JAGUAR LAND ROVER COOKIE POLICY
When you visit our websites, read, click on or download information and receive information by email from us (e.g. brochures) in response to your requests, we receive information through automatic means from or in connection with your device about how you use the website. We may also use image elements and cookies that may be transferred to the cookie file on your device, depending on the nature of your device. See below for more information on this. This information helps us to improve our website for all visitors and to make continuous improvements so that the information on our pages can be updated and remains relevant and useful to you.
Device data
The device data our websites collect includes:
– technical information, your internet domain name (this could be your internet service provider, e.g. BT, Sky, TalkTalk, or your place of work), and the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your device to the internet, your login information, browser type and version (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox), your device type, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system (e.g. Windows 10, macOS) and platform;
– information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, through and from our websites (including date and time); products you viewed or searched for; page response times; download errors; length of visits to certain pages, how many and which pages you visited during a session on our website and how long you spent on the website, and page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks and mouse-overs).
- We may receive information about you if you use any other websites operated by us or services we provide. We work with third parties (including, for example, business partners, subcontractors in technical, payment and distribution services, authentication and fraud support service providers, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers and credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from these third parties.
Image elements
We may use image elements, which are small graphics files, that allow us to analyze the use of our websites. An image element may collect information such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer from which you downloaded the page on which the image element appears, the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the page on which the image element appears, the time the page containing the image element was viewed, the type of browser that inserted the image element, and the identification number of any cookie previously sent by that server to your computer. When we communicate with you via HTML-enabled email, we may use format-sensing technology that allows the image elements to tell us whether you have received and opened our email.
Cookies
A cookie is a text-only piece of information that a website transfers to the cookie file of the browser on your computer's hard drive to help us remember you. Cookies can help a website retrieve information more quickly that is tailored to your interests. Most websites on the Internet use cookies. Cookies by themselves cannot be used to identify you.
Typically, a cookie contains the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the "expiration date" of the cookie, and a value, which is usually a unique random number.
This website uses two types of cookies:
- Session cookies are temporary cookies that are stored in your browser's cookie file until you leave the website.
- Persistent cookies are cookies that are kept in your browser's cookie file for much longer (the length of time depends on the "expiration period" of the specific cookie).
How cookies are used and what information is collected.
Session cookies are used to:
- Allow you to maintain your information between the various pages of the website, avoiding the need to re-enter it.
- Allow access to stored information as soon as you register.
Persistent cookies are used to:
- Help recognize you as a unique visitor (since a number is used, you cannot be personally identified) whenever you enter the website.
- Specifically, if you want to know more about how Google processes personal information to personalize ads, click here: Google's Privacy & Terms site
- Compile anonymous and cumulative statistics that allow us to understand how users navigate the website and help us improve the structure of the website. In this way, it is impossible to identify you personally.
